It was another big month in the community at Adelaide United with a number of player appearances throughout March, primarily focused around our United Clubs Program.
United Clubs Program
Adelaide United players visited four of our ‘United Clubs’ in March to help coaches and players launch their 2017 season.
Jordan O’Doherty and Ben Warland, attended the official season launch Munno Para Soccer Club on 17 March, joining in with MiniRoos games whist assisting coaches of older teams as they prepared for round 1 of the season.
Out at West Torrens Birkalla on 17 March, Iacopa La Rocca and former player/ Sergio Melta Medalist Ryan Kitto joined in a MiniRoos session with over 100 kids taking part.
On 22 March, Sturt Lions Football Club welcomed John Hall and Mark Ochieng to their junior training session involving over 250 players. Mark ran the juniors through some finishing practice, while John worked with junior goalkeepers.
Ben Warland and Lachlan Brook, visited Angle Vale Soccer Club at their season launch on 27 March. The visit opened with a Q&A as part of Adelaide United’s partnership with the Motor Accident Commission to promote the ‘Use Your Head’ campaign. Lachy and Ben also talked the juniors through what it takes to represent our nation at junior levels, and the transition into senior football.
Community Appearances
Taylor Regan visited Concordia College on 27 March to help launch the school’s football program for 2017. Taylor presented the school with a signed jersey before assisting is a training in session for the school’s development squad.
Finally, Jesse Makarounas and Taylor Regan helped build the Telstra Team Kids Castle at Telstra’s CBD office on 22 March. As a part of this fundraising initiative, the boys shared stories and funded some bricks to help raise much needed funds for the ‘Team Kids Beach House Project’.
