High Performance Program

Adelaide United is enhancing its focus on youth development with the AUFC Advanced Program inspired by PSV, designed for children aged seven to 15.

The program is an expansion of the Junior Development Program offering, which helps foster the development and growth of young players in a fun, inclusive and safe environment.

Under the leadership of the club’s Head of Junior Development, Marcelo Carrusca, Advanced Program offers extra training twice per week with the club’s experienced junior coaches, focusing on both technical skills and overall player development.

The program has been created to complement the training commitments at local South Australian clubs, focusing not only on skill development on-field but also on nurturing well-rounded individuals off-field.

Our advanced program is tailored for kids with advanced skill abilities. We aim to select the most skilful and talented players from our Junior Development Program (JDP), school holiday clinics, or through our dedicated scouting team working with local clubs. By identifying and bringing together the best talents, we ensure players with similar abilities train in a challenging environment that helps them maximise their potential, excel on and off the field, and become their best.

Throughout the year, players will transition between various groups to challenge both themselves and their teammates. We reserve the right to select players for different tournaments based on their abilities. We will ensure that players receive sufficient game time during the year, participating in internal games as well as competing against other clubs and academies.

With inspiration from PSV, we will integrate elements of their methodology into our coaching philosophy to ensure the program continues to evolve and improve for the benefit of the kids.

Participants will train throughout the year with 16 sessions per school term and have the opportunity to play national and international tournaments, IFA Academy tournament (Adelaide) and friendly games throughout the year.
