Adelaide United is delighted to announce the signing of former Olyroo, Dylan Pierias.
Pierias joins us from Western Sydney Wanderers on a three-year deal, taking his contract to the end of the 2026/27 season.
Pierias ushered in a new-generation of talent in the Isuzu UTE A-League, becoming the first player born in the 21st Century to take to the field when he debuted for Melbourne City at age 16.
Dylan quickly gained recognition following a stellar move to Western United, making 94 League match appearances as a foundation player of the club and becoming the inaugural recipient of the Young Player of the Season Award.
Having been awarded the accolade for a second consecutive year in his breakthrough 2020/21 season, a call-up to the Olyroos Tokyo squad was inevitable, adding to Pierias’ international resume with representation at all youth levels.
The Olympian and Isuzu UTE A-League Champion spoke about his new move to Adelaide and excitement to play for the Adelaide faithful.
“I’m really excited to be playing in front of that Coopers Stadium crowd and to bring that direct style of football that I like to play,” said Pierias.
“I have that pace down the wing and I’m trying to be as exciting as I can for the Adelaide United fans.”
Dylan also highlighted the significance of the move for his family, recently becoming engaged and expecting a baby with fiancée, Ella.
“One of the major reasons I wanted to come to Adelaide is to put down some roots,” Pierias told AUFC Media.
“I’m really excited to be moving to Adelaide and having my new little family there.”
The versatile 24-year old brings a level of resilience and pace to the squad, capable of playing multiple positions across the pitch, with a determination to get forward and deliver.
Head Coach, Carl Veart, is looking forward to reuniting with Pierias at club-level.
“Dylan is someone that I’ve known for quite some time, having worked with him as a junior player in the National Team setup.” said Veart.
“He will provide a lot of speed in our attack and gives us that flexibility in our front line.”
Adelaide United’s, Head of Football, Marius Zanin is equally excited about Pierias’ arrival to the Club.

“Dylan is a player we know will excel in our environment and we are very much looking forward to working with him.”
