On the back of the 2016 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) South Australia, Adelaide United will be holding trials for the upcoming 2017 campaign.

The Reds are keen to secure the best talent available within South Australia by holding these sessions, and will have Adelaide United Head of Youth Development and Women’s Football, Huss Skenderovic, overseeing the trial process. Skenderovic will also have assistance from Ivan Karlović and Simon Catanzaro.

“All eligible players are encouraged to register and trial for this squad because we want to assess the best talent this State has to offer,” Skenderovic said.

“Last year’s squad competed well in the NPL competition and we want to better that in the new season.

“What’s great to see is the likes of Jordan O’Doherty and Riley McGree most recently able to take the step up from the Club’s youth sides to A-League football.

“These boys and others have shown there is a definite path to make appearances as a professional even at a young age and that’s what we’ll be trying to do through our campaign next year.”

All eligible players from the Club’s 2017 NPL side will also have the opportunity to travel and compete in the 2017 Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) held on Costa Brava in Girona (Northeast coast of Spain) from the 11th – 16th April 2017.

To be eligible for the trials, players must be born between 1 January 1997 and 31 December 2000.

The dates and locations for the trials will be announced shortly. Registrations close at 5:00pm on Wednesday, 30 November 2016.
