Adelaide United is proud to join WE’RE EQUAL, which promotes safe environments free from discrimination, bullying or harassment.

By joining the WE’RE EQUAL cause and signing its Statement of Commitment, Adelaide United will actively ensure everyone associated with the Club is treated equally, respectfully, and with dignity irrespective of age, ability, gender diversity, sexuality, relationship and reproductive status, race, religion, and culture.

Adelaide United Chief Executive Officer, Nathan Kosmina, said: “At Adelaide United, we believe football should be accessible and inclusive for all because it has the power to bring people together and break down barriers.

“But this can only happen if we actively work together to eliminate discrimination.

“By joining WE’RE EQUAL, we see this as another positive step in our commitment to promoting and fostering a welcoming environment for all athletes and supporters, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or ability.”

Minister for Women and the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Minister for Sport, Katrine Hildyard, said: “Sport plays a powerful role at the heart of communities, bringing people together.

“It is important that it is an exemplar of equality, inclusion, and fairness.

“Having Adelaide United join the WE’RE EQUAL campaign sends a clear message that they value and welcome all people and expect everyone involved to do so also.

“Adelaide United’s involvement will also inspire other local clubs and sporting codes to similarly expect equal and inclusive environments.

“I wholeheartedly congratulate Adelaide United on this exciting and really important announcement.”

Commissioner for Equal Opportunity, Jodeen Carney, said she was delighted that Adelaide United has become a member of WE’RE EQUAL.

“Diversity and inclusion in sport is an important part of a healthy and vibrant community.

“We’ve seen ugly instances where racism and homophobia in sport have brought both individuals and codes into disrepute.

“Here is a club that has demonstrated its commitment to inclusion and diversity.

“By signing the ‘WE’RE EQUAL Statement of Commitment’, Adelaide United is making a public commitment to having zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment in all its forms.

“This is a commitment Adelaide United makes to its players and supporters, and to its workers, contractors, and suppliers.

“The club is to be congratulated for its leadership.”
