Adelaide United Members Forum: Stability & Ambition

Adelaide United’s 2025/26 Members Forum brought together fans, players, and club leaders at Coopers Stadium for an evening of open dialogue, candid insights, and optimism for the season ahead.

Hosted by Jarrod Walsh, the event featured Chief Executive Officer Nathan Kosmina, Technical Director Ernest Faber, A-League Women’s Head Coach Theo Tsiounis, and A-League Men’s Head Coach Airton Andrioli, who each shared updates and fielded questions from members.

A Season of Renewal

CEO Nathan Kosmina reflected on the off-season changes across both programs, highlighting the balance between stability and growth.

“There was definitely a rebirth during the off-season. We felt it was time to refresh things, but the changes we’ve made have settled in quicker than expected.

Membership and commercial numbers are up, and now it’s about getting out on the pitch and seeing the results.”

Kosmina also reinforced the club’s philosophy around player transfers.

“Every dollar of transfer revenue we’ve received has been reinvested back into football. Our priority is building stability in the squad and providing a platform for our young players to develop into professional A-League footballers.”

Building Balance

Technical Director Ernest Faber underlined the club’s football-first approach, stressing the importance of balance across youth and experience.

“This season we have a more balanced team than last season. Investment isn’t only about money – it’s 24/7 commitment. Good staff, good players, and good scouting create the foundation. On top of that, culture is the roof.”

He also challenged perceptions of the league’s stature.

“This is a very good developing competition. Be proud of what we’re building here – high press, close competition, maximum development. The best elements are here.”

A-League Women’s Ambitions

For new A-League Women’s Head Coach Theo Tsiounis, continuing Adrian Stenta’s legacy while setting new goals was a key message.

“Adrian built a really strong foundation. The culture is amazing and everything is aligned. Now the recipe is there — we just need to put it together and move forward.”

Tsiounis was clear about the squad’s ambition.

“Everyone wants to start challenging for trophies. That’s our aim, that’s our objective, and that’s what we’re working towards.”

Pride in Development

A-League Men’s Head Coach Airton Andrioli spoke passionately about South Australian talent and the responsibility of leading the Reds.

“I feel so honoured to coach one of the best A-League clubs in the country, with the best supporters in the country. Football is all about you — the fans — and we want you leaving Coopers with pride in the team.”

He also emphasised the importance of blending youth with experienced signings.

“It’s all about balance. Players like Anselmo and Josh Smits bring qualities that help our young boys learn and grow. They fit the profile of what we want: professionalism, experience, and character.”

A Club Connected to its People

The evening was rounded out with member questions ranging from squad depth to active support showcasing the strong connection between the club and its fanbase.

The clear message throughout the forum was one of unity and ambition: Adelaide United is investing in its future, committed to player development, and determined to compete for honours while staying true to its South Australian roots.
