Adelaide United FC’s season of new beginnings has continued with confirmation of a new training base at Adelaide Shores at West Beach.

With a new coach at the helm, Adelaide United FC-s season of new beginnings has continued with confirmation of a new training base at Adelaide Shores at West Beach.

Taking effect immediately, the majority of the Reds- training sessions will now be held at the West Beach site after a deal, projected to be a ten year lease, was signed off by both parties.

Adelaide United CEO Glenn Elliott made the announcement this morning together with Adelaide Shores CEO Kate Williams, while Steve Georganas MP was also in attendance.

“Adelaide United has been searching for a home training base for years and finally we-re fortunate to have this wonderful opportunity from Adelaide Shores,” Elliott said.

“The infrastructure, the expertise and the actual space it provides, enabling us to maximise our training not only for seniors but youth development, are absolutely outstanding.”

“It-s about having a home – it-s that simple. In terms of the facilities, Adelaide Shores is an outstanding precinct as it is, so we-ll get to enjoy all of the things that they have.”

Western Adelaide residents and tourists staying at the Adelaide Shores holiday precinct will now have an opportunity to see some of the stars of the Hyundai A-League in action on training days.

“Adelaide Shores prides itself in being a hub for many different sports and sporting events,” Williams said.

“We are delighted to have Adelaide United select us as their new training base.”

“Each year Adelaide Shores hosts the South Australian Primary School soccer carnival. What a thrill it will be this year for those kids to compete on the same grounds where their heroes train.”

The Reds squad held its first session at the new training site this morning.
