Adelaide United is thrilled to announce the signing of American forward Erin Healy on a one-year contract from Portuguese Women’s League side Club de Albergaria.
The 23-year-old, born and raised in San Diego, USA, brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the squad, having played 24 games and scored 8 goals in the Portuguese top-flight last season.
Healy began her career at Gonzaga University in Washington State, where she showcased her ability as a versatile central player, comfortable in both the defensive and middle thirds of the pitch.
She is a very composed attacking option who has the ability to both create goals from deeper and score goals leading the line.
Erin is a player who has the potential to have a big impact in this league for the team and is a forward who’s not afraid to work hard defensively and is willing to ask questions and learn.
Expressing her excitement about joining Adelaide United, Erin Healy said:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Adelaide United and to take on this new challenge in the A-League Women.
“This Club has a fantastic reputation for giving opportunities to young players, and I’m eager to contribute to the team’s success this season.”
Marius Zanin, Adelaide United’s Head of Football, highlighted the significance of Erin’s international experience.
“Erin’s life experience playing overseas in Portugal, especially in a different language and cultural environment, is exactly the type of maturity and adaptability we respect at Adelaide United.
“We believe she’ll fit in seamlessly with our squad, and we’re excited to see her impact on the pitch.”
Erin Healy’s signing underscores Adelaide United’s commitment to strengthening the squad with talented players who bring a diverse range of experiences.
The Club looks forward to seeing Erin make her mark in the ALW competition this season.
