ALW Injury Update: Round Two

Goalkeeper Annie Grove will miss Adelaide United’s Liberty A-League Round Two clash with the Central Coast Mariners on Friday after entering concussion protocols.

Grove reported delayed symptoms of concussion in the days following Sunday’s season opener against Canberra United.

While the 22-year-old has been added to the club’s injury list, fellow ‘keeper Grace Wilson has recovered from a knee injury and is available for selection.

Experienced defenders Isabel Hodgson and Maruschka Waldus have both made progress in their rehabilitation. Hodgson has returned to running this week, while Waldus is preparing to rejoin full training.

Katie Bowler (Foot)

Bowler is continuing to be closely monitored and will remain in rehab over the coming weeks. 

Annie Grove (Concussion)

Reported concussion symptoms in the days following the Round One fixture. Upon medical review, Grove has been diagnosed with a concussion and will now proceed through the concussion protocol.

Isabel Hodgson (Ankle)

Hodgson is progressing well in rehab and has returned to running this week.

Nanako Sasaki (Thigh)

During a trial game in the final week of preseason, Sasaki sustained a severe corked thigh. She is progressing slowly and will return to training in the coming weeks.

Maruschka Waldus (Leg/ankle)

Following final checks, Waldus will join full team training from next week.

Adelaide faces Central Coast in Round Two of the Liberty A-League this Friday at Coopers Stadium from 4:30pm as part of a double header. Tickets to the game are available here.
