Adelaide United can confirm that Archie Goodwin has completed a transfer to a Major League Soccer side for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old passed his medical earlier this week and will now remain in the United States as he joins his new teammates.
Archie’s new MLS side will provide the next step in Archie’s rapidly progressing football journey.
In an emotional goodbye, Archie said:
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone at Adelaide United – the staff, my teammates, and especially the fans – for the support they’ve shown me during my time at the Club. Even though it was a short stay, it’s one I’ll never forget,” Archie said.
“The Club gave me the platform to grow, express myself, and take the next step in my career, and for that I’ll always be thankful. I’m proud to have worn the Reds’ shirt and to have been part of such a special Club. I’ll be cheering the boys on from afar and wish everyone at Adelaide United all the success in the world,” he concluded.
Goodwin joined the Reds from Newcastle Jets ahead of the 2024/25 season and made an immediate impact, scoring 13 goals in 26 appearances.
