Australia Cup 2022 Quarter Finals Match schedule confirmed

The match schedule for the Australia Cup 2022 Quarter-Finals was released by Football Australia today, which will see five Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s clubs’ line-up alongside three National Premier Leagues (NPL) outfits in four tantalising matchups in late August.

Queensland NPL side, Peninsula Power FC (QLD) will host Sydney United 58 FC (NSW) from the NSW NPL competition on Sunday, 28 August at A.J. Kelly Park (Brisbane) in a clash which will guarantee that at least one Member Federation club features in this year’s Australia Cup Semi-Finals.

The remaining three Quarter-Finals will all kick off concurrently at 7.30pm AEST on Wednesday, 31 August.

Following their Round of 16 extra-time victory over Brisbane City FC (QLD), Victorian NPL side Oakleigh Cannons FC (VIC) will host 2017 Cup Winners, Sydney FC at Jack Edwards Reserve in Melbourne.

In an all Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s affair, Adelaide United FC will meet Brisbane Roar FC at ServiceFM Stadium in Adelaide, with both sides qualifying for the Quarter-Finals following dramatic penalty shootouts against NPL clubs, Adelaide City FC (SA) and Avondale FC (VIC), respectively.

Rounding out an action-packed Wednesday night will be Macarthur FC and Wellington Phoenix FC at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in Sydney’s west. Dwight Yorke’s Macarthur have had a comfortable run to the Quarters, defeating Modbury Jets (SA) 4-0 in the Round of 16, with the Phoenix claiming an impressive 2-1 victory over fellow A-League Men side, Melbourne City.

All home teams will look after ticketing for their respective match, where details once confirmed will be promoted via their club’s digital and social media channels and via the Australia Cup website.

The Draw for the Australia 2022 Semi Finals will take place LIVE on 10 Play following their coverage of the Oakleigh Cannons FC vs. Sydney FC clash on Wednesday, 31 August, where the Semi Finals will take place on either 10, 11, 13 or 14 of September.

Like in 2021, the Australia Cup 2022 will serve as a pathway to Asia, with the winner of the competition granted one of Australia’s slots in the Group Stage of the 2023/24 AFC Cup. The AFC Cup is the second highest level of club football in Asia, sitting below the AFC Champions League.

The winner of the Australia Cup 2022 will be crowned on Saturday, 1 October 2022, when the Final is contested just days prior to the commencement of the eighteenth season of A-League Men on Friday, 7 October 2022.

All Australia Cup 2022 Final Rounds matches will be broadcast LIVE and FREE on 10 Play, with thanks to Football Australia’s Broadcast Partner, Network 10.
