Blake named in New Zealand squad

Adelaide United forward Hannah Blake has been named as part of the New Zealand national team to take on FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 quarter-finalists Colombia in a friendly match this December in Bogotá.

Blake returns to the fold having missed the most recent fixtures in September for the Football Ferns.

The 23-year-old has scored two goals and recorded an assist in her five Liberty A-League matches so far this season, in her first campaign for Adelaide United.

She has previously been capped six times by New Zealand.

Football Ferns head coach Jitka Klimková has named three new faces in her 24-player squad including Wellington Phoenix midfielder Macey Fraser, Sunderland midfielder Katie Kitching and Canberra United forward Ruby Nathan. 

Forward Hannah Wilkinson is unavailable for these games as she is serving a two-game suspension following her red card against Chile in September.
