Claudia Jenkins Earns First New Zealand Senior Women’s National Team Call-Up

Adelaide United extends its congratulations to Claudia Jenkins on her selection for the New Zealand Senior Women’s National Team for the upcoming FIFA international window (31 March – 8 April).

The 26-year-old goalkeeper has been a standout performer for The Reds this season, featuring in all 18 matches of the Ninja A-League Women’s competition and recording seven clean sheets to date. Her consistency and commanding presence in goal have been instrumental in Adelaide United’s defensive solidity throughout the campaign.

On the call up, Claudia said:

“It’s an incredible honour to be called up to the New Zealand squad for the first time. It means so much to me and my family. The Jenkins name has always been proud of its Kiwi roots, so this is a really special moment for us all,” Claudia said.

“I’m extremely grateful to Adelaide United for their support throughout my journey—my coaches, teammates, and everyone at the Club have played a huge role in helping me get to this point. I’m looking forward to the opportunity and will give everything I have to make the most of the experience,” Jenkins concluded.

Jenkins, who started her football journey at One Tree Hill Soccer Club, has carried her strong preseason form into an outstanding campaign this year. Her sharp reflexes, leadership, and calm presence in goal have been key for The Reds, and her performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Now, she’s earned a well-deserved chance to represent New Zealand on the international stage.

New Zealand Football has confirmed that the team will play an ‘A’ international match against Chinese Taipei in Kaohsiung during the FIFA window. As part of the squad, Jenkins will depart from Adelaide on Monday, 31 March, and return on Wednesday, 9 April.

Adelaide United congratulates Claudia on this significant achievement and wishes her all the best as she embarks on this next chapter of her career. The Club looks forward to seeing her represent New Zealand and continue her outstanding form on the international stage.
