Adelaide United defender, Lachlan Barr, says he and his teammates are pleased with their 5-1 win over Wellington Phoenix.
Barr scored the Reds’ third goal of the evening, smashing home a thunderous header six minutes after the re-start. Goals from Luka Jovanoivć, Hiroshi Ibusuki, and Craig Goodwin rounded-off the win, following a Nix own-goal after 16 minutes.
Speaking to Paramount+ post-game, Barr gave his thoughts on proceedings.
Barr said:
“We started off well and got that two-goal lead.
“The last 15 minutes of the first half, we didn’t play that well, but re-grouped at half time and came out in the second half and scored the three goals.
“Overall, we’re happy with the performance because we’re scoring a lot of goals at the moment – which is good.
“Once we got that third goal, then the fourth goal, I think they died off towards the end.
“Nick’s (Ansell) a quality player and that’s the first time we’ve played together.
“He slotted in well and did exceptionally for the 60 minutes he played and it’s great for him.
“We conceded one tonight, but every game our goal is to keep a clean sheet.
“But because we play so attacking, there’s a lot of space.”
