Adelaide United is proud to confirm its Leadership Group for the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s season, headlined by the return of Craig Goodwin as Captain and the elevation of two local products in an exciting new era for the Club.
Club legend and Socceroo, Craig Goodwin, will wear the captain’s armband once again following his return to South Australia from Saudi Arabia. He will be supported by Panagiotis Kikianis, Ethan Alagich, and Bart Vriends to round out the four-man Leadership Group.
Reflecting on being awarded the captaincy, Goodwin said:
“I’m incredibly honoured to be named captain again – it’s a privilege I don’t take lightly. But this isn’t about one person – it’s about the entire group. I genuinely believe we have the quality and the potential, but what’s going to make the real difference is our mentality. It’s how we show up every day, how we push each other, and how we hold ourselves to higher standards.”
“Us players have all got individual goals – whether it’s the national team, a move overseas, or simply being the best we can be – but none of that happens unless we raise the bar in everything we do. We need to believe in ourselves, be consistent in our work, and stay relentless. I’m proud to lead this group again, and I’m committed to winning – day in, day out,” Goodwin concluded.
The announcement signals a bold step forward in the Club’s commitment to building from within, with two proud South Australians in Kikianis and Alagich being recognised for their maturity, work ethic, and the standards they set every day both on and off the pitch.
The Club also extends its gratitude to Ryan Kitto, who served as Captain for the past two seasons. While not part of the official leadership group this campaign, Kitto’s influence remains ever-present.
Alagich, the reigning Vidmar Medallist, and Kikianis, one of the Club’s most consistent and respected young professionals, have both emerged as shining examples of what it means to live the values of Adelaide United.
The newly announced Leadership Group embodies the Club’s culture, combining seasoned experience with emerging leadership.
