Emilia Murray Departs Adelaide United

Adelaide United can confirm the departure of young South Australian Emilia Murray.

Emilia is leaving the Reds to take on a new challenge at another A-League club.

Murray, 19, burst onto the scene in Round 2 of the 2021/22 season against Canberra United after dominating with Football SA NTC, where she scored nine goals in 11 matches prior to joining the Reds.

Since signing with Adelaide United, she has made 29 appearances for the Club and scored three goals. Her first goal came against Sydney FC in November 2023, scoring the winner at just 18 years of age.

Murray has also earned national recognition, captaining the Young Matildas during their 2022 Pacific Women’s Four Nations Tournament in Canberra and Queanbeyan, and most recently being selected for their 2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifying campaign.

Emilia is grateful for the Club for giving her the opportunity.

“Thank you, Adelaide United, for making my dreams come true. Every moment with the club has been unforgettable and will always hold a special place in my heart,” Murray said.

Head Coach Adrian Stenta expressed his gratitude for Emilia’s contributions

“I would like to thank Emilia for her efforts during her time with us. She was a pleasure to work with, and I wish her all the best in her future endeavours,” Stenta said.

The Club wishes Emilia well and the best of luck moving forward.
