In just her first season with the Reds, Erin Healy is proving to be a game-changer. The forward has already surpassed her previous season’s performances, netting five goals and playing with a confidence that has elevated both her individual game and the team’s overall attack.
For Healy, the key to her success this season has been a newfound sense of freedom on the pitch. Unlike previous experiences, where external pressures or difficult transitions impacted her play, she describes this season as the most carefree she has felt in a long time. Much of that, she says in an interview with Seven News’ Robbie Cornthwaite, is thanks to the supportive environment fostered by her teammates and coaching staff.
“This is the most carefree I’ve been playing in a while,” Healy explains. “I love the girls I’m playing with, I love the coaches, and it just makes it easy for me to be out there and have fun.”
That camaraderie is translating into results, with Adelaide United enjoying a record-breaking unbeaten streak of 9-matches. While the club has historically struggled to make a deep finals run, Healy believes this squad has the potential to rewrite history.
“I think we get along super well off the field, and I think that’s rare,” she says. “They say that hasn’t always been the case in past years, but now, we’re out there having fun and playing with our best friends. That kind of chemistry makes a huge difference.”
Beyond the pitch, Healy emphasises how close-knit the team has become, describing the environment as more than just a squad—it’s a family.
“From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of something special. We spend so much time together, whether it’s team dinners, coffee runs, or just hanging out, and that bond shows in how we play,” she shares. “Everyone genuinely wants the best for each other, and that kind of support is rare.”
The coaching staff has also played a major role in fostering this environment. “The coaches trust us and encourage us to express ourselves. They’ve created a space where we can be ourselves and enjoy the game, and that has made all the difference for me personally.”
As Adelaide United continues its push toward the top, Healy and her teammates are embracing the journey together.
“We talk about the finals in passing, but our focus is always the next game. We just want to keep playing our football and enjoying every moment. If we do that, we truly believe we can achieve something great this season.”
With every goal and every win or point won, Healy and Adelaide United are building momentum toward what could be a historic season. Their focus remains on one game at a time, but the belief is growing within the squad that they can go all the way.

“We haven’t even hit our peak yet, which is really exciting,” she adds. “Hopefully, we can reach that in the playoffs and make a run to the grand final. That’s our ultimate goal.”
As Adelaide United continues to shine, Erin Healy is proving to be a vital part of the team’s success—a player finding her rhythm, embracing the team’s family-like atmosphere, and helping to lead the charge toward a potential finals campaign.
