Adelaide United is committed to keeping fans informed on the recovery progress and playing status of our players. As we continue through the season, several players have been working hard to return from injury, while others have successfully made their way back to the pitch.

Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s Team:
Players Returning from Injury:
- Panashe Madanha:
Panashe is currently 10 weeks post left hamstring injury, having previously suffered a right hamstring issue earlier in the season. He is now in the later stages of his rehab, combining gym and pitch-based exercises. Currently participating in modified team training, Panashe aims to return to full training within the next month. - Bailey O’Neil:
Bailey has been recovering from a lumbar stress fracture sustained four months ago. His rehab has predominantly focused on gym work, but he is now in the mid-stages of pitch-based rehabilitation. He is working on reconditioning and plans to join in with team training next month before returning to match action.
Players Returned from Injury:
- Jordan Elsey:
After over three months out with a right quad injury, Elsey made his return to play in the A-League Men’s match against Auckland FC. His successful recovery and return to the field were key milestones for both him and the club. - Javi Lopez:
Lopez has recovered from a right calf injury that sidelined him for seven weeks. Having participated fully in team training for the past week, he is back to full fitness and ready to contribute to the squad. - Isaías:
Isaías returned to the bench against Macarthur last week after recovering from a low-grade left hamstring injury. After being out for two weeks, he is now available for selection and continues to provide important depth to the squad.

- Ryan Tunnicliffe:
Ryan has been putting in extra work on his fitness, including additional sessions. He remains available for selection in a highly competitive position and has approached this season with professionalism, contributing positively to the group. - Josh Cavallo:
Josh has been training with great intensity and continues to push for selection. He remains focused and professional, doing everything he can to be ready when called upon.
Ninja A-League Women’s Team:
The Ninja A-League Women’s Team has had a successful season with strong player availability and effective management of minor injuries. However, long-term injuries have tested the resilience of key players, particularly Isabel Hodgson and Dylan. Holmes
Isabel Hodgson and Dylan Holmes:
- Both Isabel and Dylan have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and commitment to their rehabilitation process.
- From the start, advanced recovery facilities at SASI, Next Gen, and GameReady Performance have been crucial in helping them maintain their fitness while recovering.
- They utilised resources like the pool, bike, and Alter Gravity Treadmill to stay conditioned during their recovery.
- Rehabilitation has been both a physical and mental challenge, and both players have approached it with patience, perseverance, and resilience.
- Key milestones in their recovery journey included:
- Their first run.
- Their first ball session.
- Their first modified training session.
- Eventually, their return to full training.
- Once they reached the stage of high-end training, they worked closely with S&C coach, Luke Harris to carefully manage their training loads.
- Their successful reintegration into team training was a significant achievement.
- The highlight of their rehabilitation journey was their return to the field for their first match, which was a proud moment for both players and the entire medical and coaching staff, who supported them throughout the process.
