Gauci: Easter break a chance to refresh

Joe Gauci spoke to media on Wednesday at the VALO Training Centre, looking ahead to Sunday’s game against Perth Glory.

Having the Australian Defence Force Men’s Football Team watching training:

“It’s good to have them (ADF Men’s Football Team) out here.

“It’s going to be exciting for them to play the curtain raiser before us on Sunday.

“It was good to have a chat to some of the players afterwards and get to know some of them and speak to their ‘keeper about goalkeeper things.

“We’ve given them an insight into our lives and they’ve given us a bit of insight into theirs as well.”

AUFC Legends vs ADF Men’s Football Team:

“I think it will be a good game.

“The guys from the ADF said that hopefully the Legends team won’t run around too much.

“It will be a close one, I think, so I’m looking forward to watching it.”

A break over Easter:

“It has been really good.

“I think some of the more senior boys have had time to freshen their legs and some of the boys that maybe haven’t been getting as many minutes have been able to get that work in the legs as well.

“I think you could probably see today there has been some good banter going on and some good competitiveness.

“The changeroom is in high spirits, and we’re looking forwards to finishing the season strong.”

Facing Perth Glory:

“Every game into the run home is going to be a tough one so it’s an important game for us.

“We need three points to hopefully seal our position in the finals.

“It’s going to come right down to the last games but to have these three games at home is nice.”
