Adelaide United goalkeeper Annalee Groves was one of her side’s better performers with five saves in the draw with Brisbane last week but would rather not be so busy.

Grove kept her side in the game with a series of important blocks to repeatedly deny the Roar.

While the Reds are yet to register a win in six Liberty A-League games, Grove says the side is gelling well and working hard to take all three points from Saturday’s game against Western United.

Speaking after training in warm conditions on Monday, the 22-year-old shot stopper was eager to get back on the park after visiting Port Lincoln to run community clinics during the international break, and said the side was building towards getting results.

Annalee Grove on what she did during the international break:

“A bit of rest, a bit of fun with the family and just kind of taking the break, which is much needed.”

Annalee Grove on what the side takes away from the one-all draw on the road to Brisbane:

“I think we take all the confidence we can get out of that game. We’re building, we’re building towards our next game and the win’s coming, and we’ve just got to play as a team and work together and the results will come.”

Annalee Grove on her own performance, and making eleven saves in two games:

“It was a hard week at training that week. We studied our opposition, and it came through in the game. We’re able to keep them to one goal and a lot of credit to the coaching staff and the other keepers out here.

“I guess as a goalkeeper some say the less save you make the better the game but it’s always nice to help out the team and it’s a bit of fun.”

Annalee Grove on playing Western United this week:

“We’ve done a bit of review on them and we’re working more of a video later on in the week and we’ll work from there.”

Annalee Grove on how important it will be to get the side’s first win of the season:

“I think a win is really important. Once we get that win, we’ll get on a roll and we’ll keep working towards the season as it comes. There’s plenty more games within this season so I think it’s there, and it’s there for the taking.”

Annalee Grove on the team gelling after bringing in a number of new faces in the off-season:

“The team is really coming along really well at the moment. We’ve got all our players back Chelsie (Dawber)’s come back in and everyone’s just gelling really nicely.”
