A Spanish maestro in midfield, Isaías has his country’s style of football ingrained in his DNA. Having rubbed shoulders with the likes of Cesc Fàbregas and Gerard Piqué at La Masía, FC Barcelona’s esteemed youth academy, Isaías is consistently the club’s most accurate passer of the football. Whether it’s at short range or long, Isaías can find teammates with a level of ease and precision that was rarely seen prior to his arrival in the Hyundai A-League. Having previously gained experience playing for Spanish La Liga side, Espanyol, Isaías became an essential cog in the Reds’ midfield engine from the moment he arrived at the club in 2013. Performing as consistently as anyone in the middle of the park, Isaías’ commitment, passion, and drive to win is blatant, regardless of whether he is going forward in search of the perfect through-ball, or whether he is tracking back, breaking up an opposition counterattack. The Spaniard’s class also saw him claim his second Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion Award at the conclusion of the 2016/17 campaign.
