Adelaide United midfielder, Isaías, has said the Reds need to continue with their consistent form to ensure finals football is clinched.
United are currently four matches unbeaten, a streak which has seen Carl Veart’s side jump to fourth on the table – equal third on points, however with a weaker goal difference compared to Central Coast Mariners.
Speaking to media at Coopers Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, Isaías praised his teammates’ resilience for grinding out a win over Brisbane Roar at the weekend and insisted it must continue.
Sitting in fourth:
“It’s a pretty positive thing to be up there (on the ladder) and, as I have mentioned before, I think it’s very important for us to be consistent in this moment.
“We know the ladder is very close, and the teams are very close to each other.
“So if we can be consistent, I think it will be one of the keys at the end of the season.
“This season is very equal and (all) the teams have really good squads, so the games are really equal.
“It’s small details that can change a game, and can change your run of the games.
“I think we are in good momentum and I think we need to (take) advantage of it.”
A “special talent”:
“Nestor is a special talent and, obviously, he can deliver special moments.
“As he said in (his interview) after the game, he’s learning, he’s improving as a 16-year-old, and he needs to prove his work rate and movements tactically.
“But you can see how good he is, how talented he is, and I hope he can deliver more moments like that very soon.”
Run still left in his legs:
“I just focus and try to enjoy every game that I’m playing at the moment.
“I’m not sure how far I will get.
“I would like to enjoy the moment and obviously to help the team.
“(But) in the moment or if (the coaches) think I can not help the team I’m happy to move to one side.”
