Adelaide United is delighted to officially announce the re-signing of star Spanish midfielder Isaías on a three-year contract extension.
Isaías’ new deal means the Spaniard will remain in Adelaide until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season.
The 29-year-old has been an integral player for the Club since joining the Reds prior to the beginning of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season.
Isaías, who has scored five goals in 104 appearances for the Reds, was instrumental in Adelaide securing its historic Premiers’ Plate and Championship double during the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 campaign.
He also helped end the Club’s silverware drought, lifting the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup in December 2014.
Speaking on re-signing with United, Isaías said it was an easy decision to make and is looking forward to the prospect of tasting more success in the future.
“This is a fantastic feeling because it is a long-term contract and it will be very good for my family as well,” Isaías said.
“Obviously I’m staying here because I enjoy my life here in Adelaide, but I’m also staying here because I want to get more success and win more titles.
“And this is one of the reasons why I’m staying, because I believe and I trust this Club and this team and the style we play and I’m sure of more success in the future.”
The Spaniard also praised United’s supporters for making him feel at home in Adelaide.
“The supporters have always made me feel at home which is another reason why I decided to stay,” he continued.
“I feel when I play, wherever I am they make me feel very good and at home and this is very important for me and my way to say thank you to them.”
Adelaide United’s Head Coach, Guillermo Amor, said he was thrilled the Club had secured Isaías’ services for another three years.
“I think this is a good signing for the Club and hopefully this continues,” Amor said.
“Isaías is a very good player and he’s the best in his position in the league, he’s happy here in Adelaide.
“He had offers from other clubs, but he has chosen to stay with us, which is fantastic.
“It’s great for the team, he’s a very good player, a great professional and it’s great news in this moment that he wants to spend more time in Adelaide.”
United’s General Manager of Football, Ante Kovacevic, welcomed Isaías’ re-signing stating: “He’s been a key player for the Club for nearly four seasons and this just shows our faith in his abilities to lead the team,” Kovacevic said.
“And also become a focus point for further building a successful team around someone that’s hungry for success himself just like the Club.
“It secures his future in Adelaide, his family is happy here and it allows him to focus on his football in that time.”
