A product of the Reds’ youth system, after previous spells with Raiders and a short stint with Melbourne Knights, O’Doherty is capable of playing either as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. The prodigious talent uses a combination of tenacity and technical ability to free himself from the attentions of his opponents in tight spaces as he excited fans with several promising performances during the 2016/17 campaign. O’Doherty also showed he has an eye for goal following spectacular long-range goals against the Central Coast Mariners and Jeju United.
