Ahead of the intriguing meeting, we take a closer look at the club, based in southwest Brisbane.
Since Queensland Lions FC gained promotion to the recently-expanded National Premier League Queensland for the beginning of the 2018 season, they have not looked back.
The team with Dutch origins, secured the NPL Queensland title with 69 points, seven points clear of second-placed Western Pride FC with a game in hand. They scored a 84 goals while boasting the stingiest defence – conceding a measly 11 times.
Lions FC won 23 matches, while losing the other three of their 26 games.
The club, coached by former Queensland Roar midfielder, Warren Moon, also have a number of players in their squad with Hyundai A-League pedigree.

Top-goal scorer Marek Mádle found the back of the net at a prolific rate, netting 18 goals in 13 league matches.
Shaun Carlos has proved an attacking weapon for Lions FC with the midfielder registering 10 goals in 25 league games, while scoring a further six in the cup.
Colombia forward, Jheison Macuace, has also been productive and scored 15 goals in all competitions.
In this year’s Round of 32, Lions FC triumphed over fellow NPL Queensland outfit Olympic FC, thanks to a dramatic 3-2 victory.
Matija Simic and Macuace put the hosts ahead but they surrendered their two-goal lead in the 81st.
However, their blushes were spared courtesy of substitute Carter Glockner’s 87th-minute winner.
