For the first time in South Australia, McDonald’s is partnering with A-League club Adelaide United to launch its 2026 Community Grants program – aimed at empowering the next generation of young football stars across South Australia.
A total of two Community Grants are available for football players aged between 14 and 18 years old who are based in South Australia, with each recipient receiving:
- a money can’t buy experience with Adelaide United FC – access to watch an Adelaide United FC closed training session, meet and greet with professional football players, and pre-match VIP experience for two at a regular season home game;
- $2,500 in athlete development funding towards club registration fees and football equipment; and
- an interview opportunity for the role of Crew Member at their local Macca’s*.
Brendon McPhail, Regional Director, South West Region said, “Launching this initiative in South Australia is a proud moment for us. As one of the largest employers of youth in Australia, we’re excited to continue our support for young Australians who are passionate about sport and their communities.
“With $2,500 in athlete development funding and a money can’t buy experience in partnership with Adelaide United FC, this initiative is all about giving young footballers in SA the chance to chase their dreams.

A parent or guardian can submit an application online highlighting how the recipient demonstrates values of commitment, team spirit, respect for others and support for their community. Applications are open now and close at 11:59 PM AEDT on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
