Whilst still in the very early stages of his football career, Mark Ochieng has already displayed significant signs of maturity and commitment since making his debut for Adelaide United during the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season. With a lethal combination of strength and pace, Ochieng is solid at the back, yet finds every opportunity to run at his opponent. Consistently impressing for the Reds’ Youth Team, Ochieng’s performances have earned him Australian U17 and U20 international call-ups, helping him to gain experience, vital to his development. Having enjoyed a breakout campaign during the 2016/17 season, Ochieng also proved to be a handy impact substitute – offering an impetus off the bench when deployed as a right winger. The 20-year-old’s most iconic moment to date was his emphatic match-winning strike in a 2-1 win over Melbourne City, sending Coopers Stadium into a frenzy.
