Based on the latest weather forecasts, the Australian Professional Leagues’ (APL) in consultation with the Clubs has taken the proactive step of delaying the start of this weekend’s Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United fixture (Saturday 7 December).
In accordance with APL’s Heat Policy, A-League matches may be delayed or postponed where the Ambient Temperature measures at or above 38 degrees Celsius, and/or where the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) measures at 28 degrees Celsius or above. APL’s weather forecast data for McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday indicates that the WBGT may measure at or above 28 degrees Celsius at around 5:00pm. With this in mind, APL in consultation with Newcastle Jets have determined to delay kick-off to 6:00pm AEDT in keeping with safety threshold measures prescribed within APL’s Heat Policy, and to allow fans and other stakeholders to proactively prepare for this adjusted kick-off time in advance.
As a result of the decision to adjust the kick off time due to heat forecast, this match will now be live and exclusive on Paramount+. Fans will be able to watch the sold out New Zealand Derby live and free on 10 Bold and 10 Play whilst also streaming live on Paramount+ from 2:30pm AEDT Saturday ahead of a 3.00pm AEDT kick off.
