Adelaide United Youth have recorded successive victories, after overcoming Para Hills Knights 3-0 in an impressive outing at VALO Football Centre on Saturday.

Alhassan Toure, Yared Abetew and Ninko Beric all found the net in expert fashion as the Young Reds extended their unbeaten streak to five matches.

Paul Pezos named an unchanged line-up from last weekend’s comprehensive 3-0 win over West Adelaide and looking to maintain some continuity in the squad.

It was a scrappy start to the game with a lot of fouls and turnovers in possession, before United Youth settled.

Taras Gomulka forced Para Hills’ ‘keeper into a smart save from his flicked attempt after some excellent lead-up play by Kusini Yengi.

Gomulka was involved moments later, this time as the orchestrator, as the hosts opened the scoring on 34 minutes.

The midfielder played a cross-field ball to the right wing for Toure and he dribbled past two Knights defenders before smashing his finish into the bottom corner.

Adelaide made the best possible start to begin the second-half through a stunning strike from Abetew.

The defender wandered forward and opted to unleash a speculative shot which found its way past the goalkeeper, doubling United Youth’s advantage.

At 2-0 down, Para tried to get back into the game but Young Reds shot-stopper, Dakota Ochsenham was equal to two very good attempts within the space of 12 minutes.

Substitute, Beric, then put the result beyond any possible doubt with a clinical finish of his own in the first-minute of stoppage time as the Young Reds kept pace with the top six.

The striker, with time and space, arrowed his strike into the bottom corner after the Para Hills defence dropped off.

Adelaide now tackle Croydon at Polonia Reserve next Saturday, with the pair both having accrued 22 points, in what promises to be an intriguing contest.

Adelaide United Youth face Croydon Kings in Round 17 of the National Premier League 2019 season on Saturday, 13 July at VALO Football Centre – The Parks. Kick-off is at 3.00pm. Reserves kick-off at 12.45pm.
