Pierias: I really want to stamp my authority in Adelaide

Adelaide United winger, Dylan Pierias, says his decision to move to Adelaide was the best decision for his football and his family.

The 24-year-old, who signed a three-year deal with the Reds last month, is expecting his first child with his fiancee later this year and believes Adelaide will be the perfect place for both his career and growing family.

Speaking to the media at Coopers Stadium Friday afternoon, Pierias spoke about his excitement at joining the Club, how his first week of pre-season has gone and why he thinks Adelaide was the best decision for his family.

Pierias on his decision to move to Adelaide:

“It was a footballing decision, but also a decision for my family as well. Obviously, I’ve got a partner and a kid on the way. I’ve heard a lot about Adelaide being a great place for a young family as well. So that was also part of the reason why I came.”

“And, you know, Adelaide is a fantastic club. And I’m really excited to play in front of the fans at Coopers Stadium, and I’m really excited.”

Pierias on how pre-season has started:

“I’m really enjoying it. I’ve only come up a few days ago. I like the kind of relaxed lifestyle it’s kind of bringing. I’m really enjoying the first couple days of training and I’m looking forward to the rest.

Pierias on his goals for the new season:

“That’s what I’m looking for this year, to have more consistent game time. I feel like the more consistent game time you have, the more consistent you can be on the field. And that’s what I want to do.”

“I really want to stamp my authority here in Adelaide and show the fans and prove to myself as well that I can be a really good player in this League.”

Pierias on his relationship with Carl Veart:

“Yeah, he’s just been really supportive. And, you know, he’s shown confidence in me when I spoke to him, and he believes me and backs me. I’ve only been here a week, but it’s all positive and yeah, I’m really happy about that.”
