Adelaide United is thrilled to announce that Nanako Sasaki, the 2023/24 Dianne Alagich Medalist, has committed her future to the Reds by signing a new two-year contract.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who joined the Club in 2021, has made 50 appearances for Adelaide United, scoring four goals, including a memorable screamer in just her second match—a 2-1 victory over Canberra United.
Her consistent performances last season earned her the prestigious Dianne Alagich Medal, awarded to the A-League Women’s Player of the Year.
On committing to the Club, Nanako said:
“Winning the Dianne Alagich Medal last season was very special for me and it makes me want to keep playing my best next season.
Adelaide United feels like home, and I’m happy to stay here and help the team for two more years,” she said.
Since arriving in South Australia in 2017, Sasaki has quickly established herself as one of the premier talents in the local Women’s National Premier League SA (WNPLSA). During her time with Adelaide City and Adelaide Comets, she garnered numerous team and individual accolades, including three selections to the WNPL Team of the Year.
Adelaide United Head of Football, Marius Zanin, told AU Media:“Nanako has been a standout performer for us over the past few seasons. Her dedication, skill, and passion make her an invaluable asset to the team.
We are delighted she has chosen to extend her time with Adelaide United, and we look forward to what she will achieve in the next two years.”
Adelaide United is excited to see Nanako Sasaki continue her journey with the Club and looks forward to her contributions in the upcoming seasons.
