Proud Veart praises dominant United performance

Carl Veart has praised his side's performance after a resounding 3-0 win over Melbourne Victory.

Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, has praised his side following their 3-0 win over Melbourne Victory at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.

The dominant performance was capped-off by goals to Hiroshi Ibusuki, Craig Goodwin, and Ben Warland, temporarily putting Adelaide in second spot on the Isuzu UTE A-League table.

Pride in his boys:
“I’m so proud of the playing group.

“They executed everything that I asked him to do and even more.

“These games are different games and the players were fantastic tonight.

“They didn’t stop, they went the whole 96 minutes or whatever it was.

“So I’m so happy for them.

The crowd’s support:
“I think it was fantastic from our supporters to come out in such great numbers and I think they would have enjoyed the atmosphere (too).

“Tonight was just sensational.

“They got behind us from the start and that’s what we said to the players, to make sure we started fast and started with a lot of energy to make sure we got the crowd straightaway on our side.

“This (Coopers Stadium) is a very difficult place to play at when the crowd are like they were tonight.”

The game plan:
“Victory are a quality side and they’ve got a lot of depth in their team.

“It was important tonight, and I think the key to our success tonight, was to limit the space for the quality players to get on the ball and cause us trouble.

Juande was immense for the Reds on Friday evening.

“Our back four tonight were excellent, Juande was just unbelievable for us, and (Isaías) was just his normal self, so that made it very difficult for them to find those pockets of space.”

Flood gates bursting:
“Look, it’s a long process, finishing and scoring goals.

“It’s not that easy and, as I said, we’ve been working on it for a long, long time.

“It’s about repeating it, repeating it, repeating it so in match conditions they (the players) don’t think too much because that’s what happens.

Adelaide United roared to victory at Coopers Stadium in Round 6.
Adelaide United celebrates Craig Goodwin’s converted penalty after George Blackwood won the spot-kick shortly after being introduced into the game.

“(As) soon as you start to think too much about your finishing. That’s when you get yourself into trouble.

“So we’re trying to make it for the playing group that they don’t think about finishing they just finish.”
