Isuzu UTE A-League fans will have the chance to experience some local football next month, with the Round One RAANPLSA clash between current champions Adelaide United and Campbelltown City on Saturday, February 24th at Coopers Stadium.
Later that night, Adelaide United will take on Western Sydney Wanderers at 7:15 pm in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Last season’s championship-winning Adelaide United side contained the likes of Luka Jovanovic, Nestory Irankunda, Jonny Yull, and Ethan Alagich, while new signing Austin Ayoubi played in the 2023 campaign for Klemzig side MetroStars.
The RAANPLSA was last at Coopers Stadium in December 2020, where Campbelltown City defeated Adelaide Comets 3-1 in the Grand Final.
Campbelltown City captain, Alex Mullen, is looking forward to showcasing local football and being back at Coopers Stadium.
“We’re all really excited about the prospect of returning and playing at Coopers Stadium. I have had the pleasure of playing there a few times for Campbelltown City and it’s a really special place to play. It will be fantastic to showcase local football to the A-League fans and hopefully they will engage in the NPL in the future.”
Adelaide United youngster, Fabian Talladira added:
“Playing at Coopers Stadium is always exciting. It is the perfect venue to showcase the amazing football talent South Australia has to offer. The NPL players of today could be the A-League players of tomorrow. As a playing group, we are excited to start the new NPL season, especially after our recent success in the competition.”
The RAANPLSA match will also be broadcast live online. Details will be announced soon from Football South Australia.
