As a result of the expected extreme heatwave conditions on Tuesday, 27 December, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has today made the decision to reschedule Adelaide United’s Women’s fixture and delay the kick-off of the Men’s match in line with the APL Heat Policy.
The APL Heat Policy states that if the ambient temperature approaches 40°C and/or the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) exceeds 28°C that matches should be delayed or postponed.
In addition, drinks breaks should be implemented if the ambient temperature is in excess of 31°C and/or the WBGT is between 26°C and 27.9°C.
The Liberty A-League fixture between the Reds and Wellington Phoenix has subsequently been postponed and the kick-off time for the Isuzu UTE A-League match between United and Newcastle Jets to 7:45pm (ACDT).
Details for the rescheduled Liberty A-League match will be announced in due course.
All other Liberty A-League and Isuzu UTE A-League matches for the remainder of December are scheduled to go ahead as per the fixture.
