Adelaide United is thrilled to unveil its dazzling 2021/22 away jersey for the upcoming season.
Drawing inspiration from the Club’s history, this UCAN kit incorporates the State colours of South Australia, creating an innovative design that is custom-made and sure to excite fans.
The jersey utilises navy blue accompanied by shades of dusk blue with an undulating gradient pattern sublimated on the shirt to represent the rolling vineyards of the iconic South Australian wine region.
Fluro red detailing on the neckline, cuffs, and bottom of the shirt accentuate the jersey’s sharpness and offers an extra level of sophistication and contrast.
The Club badge, which is printed solely in white and embossed on the shirt, juxtaposes the navy colour, allowing it to stand out.
A white piping shrike features on the back of the neck, serving as a reminder that Adelaide United is the team for all South Australians, as well as the Club’s foundation year, 2003.
The inside of the neckline will display an inscription which reads ‘More Than Football’ – a reflection of the Club’s core values.
UCAN’s specialised polyester eyelet mesh fabric design ensures the effective emission of sweat and heat throughout high-intensity wear, while the stable fibre structure gives the shirts great stretch and resistance.
Navy shorts and navy socks complement the jersey with the gradient pattern also visible on the sides of the shorts.
Adelaide United’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Marius Zanin, said: “In keeping with our theme of incorporating elements of South Australia into our jerseys, we opted to pay homage to the State’s world class wine region.
“The lined patterns scattered across the playing top reflects the rows of vines throughout the countless vineyards South Australia has to offer.
“I believe this jersey will resonate with our fans because of its uniqueness and it really captures the imagination as it is something we haven’t done before.
“UCAN has done another tremendous job throughout our entire consultation process and helped us produce a jersey we feel is one of the most beautiful in the Club’s history.”
UCAN’s Global General Manager, Ally Zhao, added: “We’re really pleased with the final version of this jersey.
“The pattern really gives the jersey a special feel and I think the use of rows of lines represents the wine region in an abstract way.
“We’re proud to produce a kit that celebrates one of the most famous aspects of South Australia.”
For the second straight season, the Club’s Platinum Partner, Australian Outdoor Living, will appear on the front of the A-League away shirt, while SA Power Networks will be placed on the W-League kit for a ninth straight year.
Platinum Partner, Starfish Developments, will continue to appear on the back of shirt for A-League matches and the famous McDonald’s logo will again be located on the right sleeve for both competitions.
