Reds and UCAN unveil goalkeeper shirts for 2021/22

Adelaide United is excited to reveal its goalkeeper strips for the upcoming 2021/22 season.

Three goalkeeper kits, manufactured by UCAN, will be utilised for the impending campaign and have been predicated on the value of family and community.

Three distinctive colours were chosen for the kits: jade green, black, and purple, with all employing an identical design print.

UCAN’s specialised polyester eyelet mesh fabric design ensures the effective emission of sweat and heat throughout high-intensity wear, while the stable fibre structure gives the shirts great stretch and resistance.

Each jersey has a custom sublimation pattern in white across the shoulders that takes inspiration from the trees within South Australia’s Kuitpo Forest – modelled as a community forest.

The Club’s ‘More Than Football’ mantra is also inscribed on the bottom-seam of the kit, while the piping shrike and the Club’s foundation year – 2003 – appear on the back of the top.

Adelaide United’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Marius Zanin, said: “We’re very excited to be releasing these goalkeeper shirts ahead of the new season.

“When contemplating the nature of the new goalkeeper kits, we realised the women and men between the sticks are often unsung heroes that deserve to be championed, hence our dedicated launch of these shirts.

“The uniqueness of these designs and their inspiration, stemming from an iconic South Australian location like Kuitpo Forest, is something that we’re all proud of.

“Similar to previous years, we consulted and collaborated with our goalkeepers to select the colour variations that they’ll be wearing for the new campaign and are thrilled with how each of them have come up.”

UCAN’s Global General Manager, Ally Zhao, added: “We wanted to create something special for the goalkeepers and enable them to wear something inspiring and distinctive.

“Basing the key features of the shirts on the Kuitpo Forest will resonate with supporters and undoubtedly allow Adelaide United’s goalkeepers to stand out on the field.”

For A-League home matches, the Club’s Premier Partner, Flinders University, will appear on the front of the shirt, while Platinum Partner, Australian Outdoor Living, will feature on the front in away A-League games.

Meanwhile, SA Power Networks will be visible on the W-League kit for a ninth straight year.

Platinum Partner, Starfish Developments, will continue to appear on the back of shirt for A-League matches and the famous McDonald’s logo will again be located on the right sleeve for both competitions.
