Football Federation SA and Adelaide United have launched their new Community Football Program partnership at Gleeson College.

Football Federation SA and Adelaide United have launched their Community Football Program partnership at Gleeson College with the help of Reds captain Eugene Galekovic, Sergio van Dijk, Bruce Djite and Jacob Melling.

The partnership will see Adelaide United players attend the various community programs conducted by FFSA Game Development Staff, including Primary School Clinics, Club Visits, Disability, New Arrival and Indigenous Programs and Regional Visits to SA-s seven associations.

On Wednesday, the Reds stars assisted in a series of small-sided games involving primary schools surrounding Gleeson College and Djite admitted the FFSA and Adelaide United partnership was a fantastic initiative.

“It-s a Community Program and it-s obviously about promoting football,” Djite said.

“Adelaide United have done a fantastic job in teaming up with Football Federation of South Australia, FFSA, and this is just the first of many trips we-re going to be making out to schools and we-re really looking forward to promoting football.”

“The guys here at Gleeson College – it-s a fantastic college from what I-ve seen in my short little period of time here. We-re just helping out with some soccer skills and there-s definitely some promising talent here.”

FFSA CEO Michael Carter echoed the sentiments of the United striker and applauded the launch of the partnership.

“After a couple of months of planning and discussion it was great to see the Community Football Program launched with the help of four of Adelaide United-s biggest stars,” he said.

“The presence of Eugene, Bruce, Sergio and Jacob will no doubt stick long in the memories of this group of primary school students.”
