Adelaide United is delighted to announce the signing of exciting young attacker Lara Gooch on a two-year contract ahead of the 2025/26 Ninja A-League Women’s season.
The 20-year-old arrives from the Newcastle Jets, where she featured in 10 matches during the 2024/25 campaign, recording two assists and scoring once.

Since making her debut in 2021 at just 16, Gooch has already amassed 43 Ninja A-League appearances, quickly building a reputation as a dynamic, pace-driven talent who can change a game with her energy and creativity.
Lara told United Media:
“I’m extremely grateful and appreciative for the opportunity to sign with Adelaide United. I’m looking forward to giving it my all and to playing in front of the amazing Reds fans. It means so much to me to be a part of this club,” Gooch concluded.
On the international stage, Gooch has represented the Young Matildas on seven occasions, including three appearances at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. She also etched her name into Australian football history by scoring the decisive goal that secured the bronze medal at the 2024 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup.
Adelaide United Head of Football, Marius Zanin, said the signing further strengthens the Reds’ attacking options.
“Lara is one of the most promising young players in the country and we’re thrilled she’s chosen Adelaide United for the next stage of her career. She already has significant experience at a young age, both in the league and internationally, and her speed and energy will add another dimension to our attack,” he said.

“Importantly, Lara has shown the mentality and drive we value at Adelaide United, and we believe she can make a real impact over the next two seasons,” Zanin said.
The 20-year-old’s signing highlights the Club’s focus on developing the next generation of Australian talent while competing at the highest level.
