Adelaide United is thrilled to announce the re-signing of eight players from last season’s record-breaking Ninja A-League Women’s squad, ensuring the backbone of the most successful team in Club history remains together as the Reds look to build on their momentum in 2025/26.
The following players have committed their futures to the Reds:
Chelsie Dawber – 2 years | 25 years old | Adelaide United’s all-time leading goalscorer with 31 goals.
Fiona Worts – 2 years | 29 years old | Forward and reigning Golden Boot winner with 11 goals last season.
Sian Dewey – 2 years | 18 years old | Midfielder with 22 appearances, including 20 in a breakout 2024/25 season.
Emily Hodgson – 3 years | 25 years old | The most capped player in Club history with 129 appearances.
Claudia Jenkins – 2 years (with an option of a year) | 27 years old | Goalkeeper who set a Club record for most clean sheets (9) last season.
Matilda McNamara – 2 years | 26 years old | Defender with 58 appearances who earned selection in the Matildas squad last season.
Ilona Melegh – 2 years (with an option of a year) | 17 years old | Goalkeeper who made her senior debut against Melbourne Victory last season.
Sarah Morgan – 1 year | 24 years old | Midfielder with 45 appearances, scoring her first Reds goal last season against Western United.
Head of Football, Marius Zanin, said retaining the core of the squad was central to the Club’s strategy.
“We’re proud to re-sign this core group who were vital to our most successful season. They bring quality, leadership, and resilience, and together with our exciting young talents, give us the foundation to keep building for sustained success,” Zanin said.
The Club will confirm further additions to the playing squad and coaching staff in the coming weeks.
