Reds players immortalised in LEGO, compete in Brick-a-laide Challenge

Four of Adelaide United’s key players were immortalised as LEGO mini-figures at Coopers Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Club Captain, Eugene Galekovic, Isaias, Tarek Elrich and Ben Garuccio all received their own miniature figures of themselves, before they took on the Brick-a-laide challenge.

The United players follow the example of some of the game’s greatest present and former players, who have been presented their own mini-Lego statues such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Zinedine Zidane.

The Brick-a-laide Challenge saw each player provided a LEGO kit without any directions and under time constraints to build the particular structure as quickly as possible.

Skipper, Galekovic was declared the eventual winner of the Challenge, much to the displeasure of Elrich, who thought he came out on top.

The mini-figure presentation and Brick-a-laide Challenge serves as a prelude to the annual Brick-a-laide – South Australia’s largest LEGO fan event.

The event takes place at the Adelaide Convention on April 14 and 15, with more than 100 displays expected to be on showcase.
