In this week’s instalment of Reds Rewind we go back to 2015 and relive Sergio Cirio’s last-gasp winner against Western Sydney Wanderers.
Round 18 of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season ended in dramatic style when Cirio sent Reds supporters happy courtesy of his composed finish in the 92nd minute to seal a 2-1 victory.
With time running out Adelaide pushed forward in one final attempt to grab the three points. Tarek Elrich released Craig Goodwin down the left flank, and the winger had the awareness to cut the ball to the unmarked Spaniard inside the box.
Cirio made no mistake, clinically dispatching his first-time effort into the bottom corner and sending the Coopers Stadium crowd into a frenzy.
