Adelaide United is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper, Annalee Grove, for the Westfield W-League 2020/21 season.
Grove spent last season at Canberra United with the 19-year-old representing Australia at the U-17 and U-20 levels. During this off-season, Grove has been part of the Future Matildas program in Sydney.
Speaking on her decision to join Adelaide while with the Future Matildas, Grove said: “I’m really happy to be joining Adelaide this year.
“The squad Adrian (Stenta) has been building is looking really promising and there’s a good bunch of girls at the Club that I’m excited to join.
“Having been with the Junior and Young Matildas over the years, I’ve definitely gained some skillsets at international level and hopefully I’ll be able to bring that experience into Adelaide this season.
“I’m looking forward to playing some good football and putting ourselves in a good position to push for finals.”
Adelaide United’s Westfield W-League Head Coach, Adrian Stenta, said: “Annalee will provide substantial competition in our goalkeeping department.
“She is a young and talented goalkeeper who has represented the Young Matildas at various tournaments and we believe she is a quality addition to the squad.”
Adelaide United’s Head of Women’s Football, Ivan Karlović, added: “Annalee joins Sian Fryer-McLaren as our two goalkeepers for the upcoming season.
“Both are excellent goalkeepers in their own right and I’m sure they will push each other throughout the year.
“We’re pleased with how the majority of the squad is coming together and there will be more signings we hope to announce in the coming weeks.”
