Adelaide United is pleased to announce the signing of centre-back, Nick Ansell, for the upcoming A-League 2021/22 season.
The 27-year-old made more than 100 appearances for Melbourne Victory across three stints with the club since his debut during the 2012/13 season.
Ansell was also a key figure in Victory’s successful 2014/15 campaign, winning both the Premiership and Championship.
The central defender has also spent time abroad with Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit Tondela in 2017/18, as well as in the Korea Republic with K-League 2 sides Jeonnam Dragons and Gyeongnam FC before returning to Victory last year.
Speaking about joining the Reds, Ansell, said: “I’m very excited to be joining Adelaide United.
“Having been lucky enough to play in the Original Rivalry on a number of occasions, I’m well-aware of the Club’s history and how passionate the fans are.
“I’m joining a team with a good mix of youth and experience, led by a great coach in Carl (Veart) and his coaching team.
“The squad made some very positive strides forward last season and I can’t wait to add to that in 2021/22.”
Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “Nick is a strong centre-back who has proven his quality throughout his career in the A-League and abroad.
“He’s good on the ball, reads the game well, and I’m confident he’ll be able to adapt to our playing style and join our changeroom seamlessly.
“Nick brings a lot of experience to the team as well, which will help the younger players in the squad and benefit us right across the park.”
