Adelaide United is delighted to announce the signing of South Australian winger, Yaya Dukuly, on a scholarship deal ahead of the A-League 2020/21 season.
Dukuly, 17, returns to South Australia after spending the last few seasons with Melbourne City’s Youth Team. Dukuly also has two caps with the Joeys, and represented Australia at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2019 where he made a substitute appearance against Ecuador.
Speaking on agreeing to join the Reds, Dukuly said: “I’m really happy to be signing with Adelaide United.
“I’m an Adelaide boy so it’s good to be home with my friends and family and I’m really looking forward to the new season.
“We want to play the best brand of football that we can, and it’s exciting as well because we’ve got some of the best young players in the country here at the Club.
“I played under Carl (Veart) when I was younger and I loved it.
“He’s always told me to express myself and play how I saw best and I’m really looking forward to working with him again.
“That was one of the key factors that brought me back to United, knowing that Carl is the Head Coach and I knew that this is a place where I can do what I do best on the pitch.”
Adelaide United Director of Football, Bruce Djite, said: “Yaya is another fantastic prospect from South Australia and we’re very happy he has come home to Adelaide United.
“At just 17 years of age, Yaya has tremendous potential, his lightning-quick pace and ability to be an attacking threat is exciting for us all.
“Yaya has all the traits to be a successful professional and we look forward to seeing him improve and develop under the tutelage of Carl and Ross (Aloisi).”
