Adelaide United is proud to announce the launch of its striking new Pride Cup jersey, a bold testament to the club’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity and diversity within the sporting community.
Custom-manufactured by the Club’s Global Technical Partner, UCAN, the jersey has been exclusively designed by local artist, Mali Isabel.
Mali’s exclusive artwork, ‘Our Limitless Layers of Life’, is an intricate story of existence, life, land, and love. It serves as a profound reminder that life encompasses a myriad of experiences, emotions, and perspectives, forming a rich and diverse mosaic.
The outfield jersey is a white base with MaIi’s colourful ‘Our Limitless Layers of Life’ detailed across the strip’s sides. The goalkeeper jersey is bold, being completely wrapped in the design.
Soft against the skin, UCAN’s fabric wicks sweat, has excellent moisture absorption traits to ensure breathability and comfort, and dries quickly.
Adelaide United’s Head of Football, Marius Zanin, said: “At Adelaide United, we believe in the power of football to unite people from all walks of life, and our Pride Cup jersey embodies our values of inclusivity and respect, and we are thrilled to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community through this vibrant representation.
“The Pride Cup kit will be prominently featured during Pride Cup, a special match dedicated to celebrating diversity within the footballing community.
“This match will serve as a platform to raise awareness, foster dialogue, and promote acceptance of LGBTQIA+ individuals within the broader sporting landscape.
“We are very proud of the overall design as we are of our 20-year history, and feel that this is the perfect jersey to commemorate a special season ahead.”
Local Artist and jersey contributor, Mali Isabel, added:” I was incredibly humbled to have been asked by Adelaide United to help design its Pride Cup jersey.
“As a proud Arabana and Kokatha women, inclusion and diversity are topics that I am passionate about.
“My design invites all of us to reflect on the interconnectedness of all living beings and the beauty that emerges when we embrace the rich tapestry of life.”
