The 23-year-old midfielder has worked his way to a starting position since joining from local RAANPLSA side MetroStars in November 2023, showcasing exceptional skills and dedication both on and off the field.
With his remarkable talent and unwavering commitment, Ayoubi has become a fan favourite and a vital component of the Club’s midfield.
Ayoubi made his A-League debut in January against Sydney FC, which was backed with his starting debut in March on the trip to Wellington Phoenix.
A junior product of Adelaide Comets FC, Ayoubi also spent time in the Football SA NTC program and played senior football with West Torrens Birkalla and Adelaide City before his most recent stint with MetroStars in the RAA National Premier League SA (NPLSA).
During the 2023 NPL SA season, Ayoubi was part of the MetroStars outfit that won both the Federation Cup and RAA NPLSA Premiership and made it to the quarterfinals of the Australia Cup, scoring in his side’s defeat to Melbourne City.
Ayoubi, a proud South Australian, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue representing his hometown club.
“I am thrilled to extend my contract with Adelaide United,” said Ayoubi.
“It’s an honour to wear the Red of my hometown club, and I am committed to giving my all for the Club and its supporters.”
Adelaide United’s Head Coach, Carl Veart, added: “Austin has consistently demonstrated his ability to influence matches and contribute positively to the team’s performance.
“His professionalism and work ethic make him an invaluable asset to our squad.”
Head of Football, Marius Zanin, commended Ayoubi’s achievements since joining in January and highlighted Austin’s re-signing as further commitment to the Club’s ethos to give South Australians the opportunity to play at the highest level.
“We have been very happy with Austin’s progress, and he thoroughly deserves this extension,” said Zanin.
“Austin is a true example of someone who is committed to working hard and determined to prove himself within a professional environment.
“As we did with Austin, we will always look at our own backyard first, as we pride ourselves on giving South Australian talent the opportunity.”
The contract extension reflects Adelaide United’s commitment to nurturing local talent and building a competitive squad capable of challenging for silverware.
