Teddy Bear Toss Returns: Adelaide United and AnglicareSA Unite for Another Year of Giving

Adelaide United is pleased to confirm the return of the Teddy Bear Toss in partnership with AnglicareSA, continuing a heartwarming matchday tradition that supports South Australian children and families doing it tough.

The initiative will again feature at the Reds’ Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s home fixture:

Adelaide United v Perth Glory
Friday 20 February 2026, 7:05pm ACST
Coopers Stadium

As part of the matchday activations, supporters are encouraged to bring a new or gently-used soft toy or teddy bear to the match and take part in the half-time Soft Toy Toss, with all donated items distributed to South Australian families in need through AnglicareSA.
Donation opportunities will again be available across matchday, including the Soft Toy Toss, along with additional ways for fans to contribute via AnglicareSA’s matchday presence at Coopers Stadium.

AnglicareSA CEO Grant Reubenicht said the continuation of the initiative reflects the power of community when people come together for a shared purpose.

“Last year showed what’s possible when a club, a cause, and a passionate fan base unite. We’re proud to partner with Adelaide United again and we’re grateful to every supporter who helps bring comfort and joy to children and families who need it most.”

Adelaide United Commercial Manager John Dagas said the Club is proud to collaborate with an organisation making a tangible difference across South Australia.

“Adelaide United is committed to being more than football, and this initiative is a perfect example of that. The Teddy Bear Toss is a simple gesture that creates a real impact – and we’re excited to see our supporters once again help brighten the lives of local kids and families.”

With more than 160 years of service to the community, AnglicareSA continues to deliver vital support to South Australians through programs and services that strengthen families, protect children, and assist those experiencing hardship.

AnglicareSA will also be activating in Family Park, engaging with fans and highlighting the important work they do across the state.

In the week leading up to the Teddy Bear Toss, AnglicareSA’s Foster Care Services, together with around 85 carers, children, and young people were given a special behind the scenes experience by Adelaide United, sitting in on a recent training session.

The memorable morning included a tour of Coopers Stadium in Hindmarsh, seats in the stands to watch the team train, and a meet and greet with players and coaches who took the time to chat and sign autographs.
