Adelaide United is thrilled to announce that 20-year-old midfielder Ethan Alagich has extended his contract with the Reds for an additional five years.
Ethan signed his first professional contract with Adelaide United in July last year. Since then, he has made a significant impact on the first team, showcasing his talent and dedication.
Last season, Ethan made 20 appearances across the A-League and the Australia Cup, solidifying his position as a key player in the Reds midfield.
Ethan, the son of former Adelaide United legend Richie Alagich, has now played 44 times for his hometown club. His journey in football began in 2008 at Valley View, followed by stints with Port Adelaide in 2009 and Adelaide Croatia from 2010 to 2015. In 2016, he was selected to join the Football SA NTC program, which paved the way for his entry into the Adelaide United program in 2019.
On his contract extension, Ethan told AU Media:
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue my journey with Adelaide United. From growing up watching my dad to representing the club, I understand what it means to wear the shirt,” Ethan said.

Ethan’s dedication and hard work culminated in being part of the RAA NPLSA squad that won the Championship in 2023. His commitment to Adelaide United and his impressive performances on the field have earned him this well-deserved contract extension.
