Adelaide United can announce the departure of forward Musa Toure to Clermont Foot 63.
Adelaide United can confirm that talented South Australian forward, Musa Toure, has signed for French Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot 63 for an undisclosed fee.
Toure, who successfully completed his medical in France, joins the side that has just been relegated from Ligue 1 after spending their first three years in the nations topflight.
He will join his brothers, Al Hassan Toure (Ajaccio II) and Mohamed Toure (Stade de Reims) also in France, who have all played for the Reds.
The 18-year-old forward made his professional debut for the Club in Round 1 of the 2022/23 season, coming off the bench against Wellington Phoenix, and has since played eleven times for the Reds, scoring once against Melbourne City in a 6-0 win in October 2023.
Toure started his football journey at local side Croydon FC, where he spent ten years of his development.
The now former-Red was also a part of the FSA Program from Under 15’s to Under 18’s, before progressing to the Adelaide United Youth Team setup, where he made 52 appearances, scoring 19 goals.
This transfer is yet another example of the Club providing opportunities and pathways for young players to fulfil their dreams of playing European football.
A grateful Toure gave his thanks for all those who have helped him to get this point.
“I want to thank Carl, Airton, Mark and Damian, along with all the other staff for their support and guidance on and off the pitch,” said Toure.
“I also want to extend a special thank you to my former coach at Croydon FC, Barry Noujaim, for allowing me to play the game I love.
“I wish the Reds all the best in the future — au revoir.”
Head of Football, Marius Zanin, was proud of this move for Toure.
“This transfer is another example of the great work Adelaide United does in giving hardworking players like Musa the opportunity to transfer overseas,” said Zanin.
“It also further underpins our commitment to developing top young talent in South Australia and creating an environment where they can flourish.”
Everyone at the Reds wishes Musa Toure all the very best with his future.
