United Bids Farewell To Maruschka Waldus

Adelaide United can announce the departure of Dutch defender, Maruschka Waldus from their Liberty A-League Women’s team.

Maruschka signed with the Reds in 2020 and has played 49 games for the Club, scoring three times.

Waldus flourished during her first stint with United, scoring two goals in 11 appearances on her way to claiming the Dianne Alagich Medal for an exceptional season.

A popular figure in the dressing room, ‘Mush’ departs after calling Adelaide home for three seasons.

Maruschka looks back on her time with the Reds fondly.

“I have had a great three years in Adelaide. It’s a wonderful place and I’m very grateful for the relationships that I have built along the way.

“I would like to send a big thank you to the fans during my time here. It’s special to play at Coopers Stadium with all your support,” Waldus added.

“I wish the fans, the Club and my teammates all the best for the future.“

Coach Adrian Stenta reflects on her time at the Club.

“I would like to thank Maruschka for her efforts and dedication to the Club during her tenure. She has had a significant impact on the team, both on and off the field for a number of seasons and it was a pleasure to have her in my squad.

“She was an ultimate professional and was great to work with. I wish her well in her next challenge,” Stenta concluded.

The Club thanks Maruschka for her time with us and wishes her all the best wishes for the future.
